Sell copper scrap in container quantities

ACS Metals buys copper scrap from yards, electricians, demolition contractors, and industrial generators — millberry, #1, #2, and insulated copper wire. Every lot is graded on intake against the specs below, weighed on certified scales, and assayed before settlement, so you're paid on the copper you actually delivered.

Container loads are our core business, but clean single-grade lots from a few tons up are welcome. Send grades, weights, photos, and location — you'll have a firm bid within one business day, priced against LME/COMEX on the day of the deal.

Copper questions, answered

What's the difference between #1 and #2 copper?

#1 copper is clean, unalloyed, uncoated tube and wire — bright to lightly tarnished, free of solder, paint, and fittings. #2 has light burnt, coated, or soldered material mixed in, so it settles at a lower recovery. Millberry — bare bright wire at 99.9% Cu — sits above both. Sorting before delivery is the single biggest thing a supplier can do to raise the price a lot commands.

How is insulated copper wire (ICW) priced?

On assayed copper recovery, not gross weight. We process a sample to determine the lot's copper yield, then settle on that percentage against the exchange price. High-recovery classes like clean THHN settle far above mixed low-grade wire, which is why the indicative range is wide.

What's the minimum copper quantity you buy?

Container quantities are preferred, but clean single-grade industrial lots from a few tons up are welcome. See the general FAQ for payment terms and logistics.
